Zeetta Networks (Technology Start-Up) – Marketing Director (CMO)         (Jan 2019 - Present)

 

Joined pre-series A VC-funded Zeetta Networks as the company’s first full-time marketing hire, reporting to the CEO, to raise the company’s corporate profile for investors and drive sales growth.   Achievements include:

  • Full product launch of NetOS Rapide™ at MWC2019 within 5 weeks of joining the company 

  • Secured Gartner Cool Vendor™ status and shortlisted for 3 major industry awards

  • Won – Engie UK&I – “Big Pitch” competition with £10k prize and paid technology trial

 

Huawei (Network Vendor) – Marketing Director – NFV/SDN                       (Mar 2017- Sep 2018)

 

Headhunted as NFV/SDN marketing subject-matter expert to develop Huawei’s Cloud Portfolio marketing. Role expanded to include IoT and 5G.  Achievements include:

  • Delivered CXO programmes on 5G, IoT, NFV/SDN and Cloud to tier-1 customers.

  • Appointed to Tech UK’s Cloud Leadership Committee advising on industry adoption of cloud.

  • Led marketing activities for £4.8m DCMS Phase 1 5G trial project and UK5G programme.

 

Amdocs (Software Vendor) – Senior Marketing Director - NFV & OSS      (May 2013- Mar 2017)

 

Turned around failing marketing team as Marketing Director and SMT member for £200m network business unit.  Led an award-winning 8-person product marketing team, launched three new NFV solutions in 18 months, enhanced awareness and created a £18m pipeline. Achievements include:

  • Positioned Amdocs as an industry recognized NFV-MANO market leader in less than 2 years. 

  • Masterminded a customer upgrade campaign with 5 sales worth £6m EBIT in 9 months.

  • Planned and executed customer conference for 40+ CxO customers with £220k budget.

 

Brygstow Consulting Limited (Consultancy) – CEO/Founder                      (Mar 2012- May 2013)

 

Founded an independent consultancy.  Directly advised the Scottish Government’s Digital Directorate, under Deputy First-Minister Nicola Sturgeon.  Spearheaded an innovation programme on Internet-of-Things (IoT) and improving Wireless Connectivity in Scotland. Achievements include:

  • Spear-headed £2m innovation programme working with industry, universities and NGOs.

  • Advised on technology and policy for successful £240m UKBD procurement in Scotland.

  • Initiated rural coverage project on Coll, Inner Hebrides delivering mobility to 170+ people.

 

Airwave (UK Emergency Services Network Operator)                         (Oct 2008 – Mar 2012)

Reported to a board member. Led Airwave’s Product Development, Marketing and Channel Partner organizations, with 33 staff, responsible for £69m annual sales.  Achievements include:

  • Transformed a failing organisation to save £9.3m in costs with 66% increased productivity.

  • Controlled a £4.7m budget to deliver new services in line with ambitious growth plans.

Headhunted to the UK’s Public Safety Network Operator.  Developed the UK five-year strategic plan and designed new market propositions to achieve growth in the Ambulance and Healthcare sectors. Achievements include:

  • Developed enterprise lone-worker application for UK ambulance staff improving staff safety.

  • Organised due-diligence leading to £2m acquisition of software company “Kelvin-Connect”.

Led Alcatel-Lucent’s new technology marketing activities for the UK and Irish MNO markets. Created and implemented field marketing plans on Fixed-Mobile-Convergence, LTE and IPTV.  Achievements include:

  • Organised and executed £110k global IPTV conference with 100+ senior executives.

  • Created “How to get ahead in IPTV” white paper with 3,000+ downloads in 3 months.

Pre-sales consultant for IN Prepaid billing systems (OSS/BSS), Mobile Payments and Value-Added-Services (VAS). Responded to bids and negotiated deals. Achievements include:
